RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — One teen is fighting for his life and another is hurt after a double shooting in North Richmond Monday afternoon.
At about 12:15 p.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Front Street for the report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found two males in their late teens with apparent gunshot wounds in the 3000 block of 3rd Avenue.
Witnesses told 8News they heard six to eight gunshots around noon, then they saw two teens that had been shot.
“The first kid that they took away in an ambulance he was bleeding real bad, and it looked like to me it looked like he was shot like in the thigh,” Andy Simmons said. “And the second guy they had a bandage wrapped around his, his calf, it wasn’t anything like the first one.”
Simmons said he saw people running from the scene, when ambulances arrived the two teens were lying on the ground.
One teen was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other teen was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
