PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Two men were arrested in Prince George County on Tuesday for allegedly stealing lawn equipment items from a Lowes Home Improvement store over the span of almost two weeks.
From May 23 until June 3 of this year, 26 lawn equipment items valued at over $300 per item were stolen.
On June 5, authorities arrested Demarreo Walker and Delonte Evans in connection with the string of larcenies from the home improvement and appliance store.
A Prince George County investigation revealed that Evans, a Lowe’s employee, would schedule to meet with Walker inside of the store to take lawn equipment.
According to a police news release, Evans would escort Walker outside with the unpaid items.
Walker, 32, of Chesterfield, and Evans were both charged with 16 counts of grand larceny and five counts of selling stolen property for profit.
Evans, a 25-year old from Petersburg, was also charged with four counts of conspiracy to commit larceny.
Police were able to identify both individuals and retrieve the stolen items due to the help of Lowes’ employees and store camera footage.
Detectives are asking anyone that may have purchased any items from Demarreo Walker on Facebook Marketplace, between the dates of May 23rd and June 3rd, to please contact Detective Mann by phone at (804) 733-2773 or by email JMann@princegeorgecountyva.gov.
