North Carolina woman charged for taking gun out during fight at Huguenot H.S.

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – A North Carolina woman was arrested on Saturday for taking out a gun during a fight at a dance competition at Huguenot High School. 

Officers were called to the school around 6:30 p.m. on March 23 for a report of a person with a weapon. When police arrived, they witnessed a fight taking place between the competitors. 

Officers broke up the fight and arrested a woman, identified as Falan Brown, for taking out the gun. 

Brown, a 36-year-old North Carolina resident, was charged with simple assault, brandishing a firearm and carrying a firearm on school grounds, police said. 

Several people suffered minor injuries from the fight and were treated at the school. One person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
