PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A Dinwiddie man suspected of shooting another person on a basketball court in Petersburg was arrested on Thursday.
Jamar Jones was taken into custody, Petersburg Police said, and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and discharging a firearm within the city limits. Jones, 27, is being held without bond after a shooting on May 29.
The incident happened on a basketball court located in the Pin Oakes Estates, according to police. One man, who was not identified, was shot in the leg and taken to a nearby hospital.
