Police ID 25-year-old killed in East End shooting


RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police have identified the man who was killed in a shooting in Fairfield Court Wednesday night.

Police sources told 8News that shortly before 8:20 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2100 block of Fairfield Avenue and located a man shot in the head lying in the sidewalk. The man, identified as 25-year-old Trequan R. Hardy, was rushed to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries. 

Richmond Police have yet to provide any suspect information at this time. 

“Detectives believe several people were in the area of 21st Street and Fairfield Avenue at the time of this shooting and may have information about this incident,” Major Crimes Captain James Laino said. “We urge witnesses or anyone with information about this shooting to contact us.” 

This was the second of three deadly shootings this week in Richmond.
