Police seek teen suspect accused of attacking elderly woman in Henrico

Crime

A teen suspect is wanted by Henrico Police after allegedly attacking an elderly woman and stealing her car in Henrico County.

Calvin Maurice White Jr., 18, is wanted for burglary, malicious wounding, and grand larceny.

Police said White Jr. attacked Sadie Alexander, 78, at her home on West Laburnum on Tuesday afternoon.

Alexander told her daughter that a man approached her outside of her home around 2:30 p.m. and asked to borrow her phone.

Somehow he got inside Alexander’s house, where he allegedly put his knee on her neck and started stabbing her.

A neighbor of Alexander’s came to her assistance and frightened the suspect away.

Alexander’s daughter told 8News that her mother was stabbed 22 times in the attack.

The suspect stole the victim’s 1992 white Volvo station wagon, which was last seen traveling southbound into Richmond on North Avenue from Laburnum Avenue.

The vehicle has since been recovered.

White Jr. is described as a 5-foot-6, 140-pound black male. He is believed to be in the Richmond area.

Alexander is expected to recover from her injuries.

Alexander’s daughter believes her mother would have been killed if that neighbor had not come to frighten the suspect away.
