Police: Woman accused of drunkenly driving ice cream truck in Va. Beach hits car, injuring 3


VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A woman is facing charges after police say she drunkenly drove an ice cream truck and hit another car in Sandbridge on Sunday, injuring three people.

Virginia Beach police said 35-year-old Ellaine Durham is charged with DWI and three counts of felony hit-and-run for the crash.

The crash happened in the 1000 block of Sandbridge Road, near Hell Point Creek, just after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. The road was closed in both directions for a few hours after the crash.

The three people hurt in the crash were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.
