RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — As another winter storm came down in Richmond area, local school districts announced closures and delays.

Richmond Public Schools

Richmond Public Schools will be closed for all staff and students on Friday due to incoming winter weather. All schools and offices will be closed. In addition to the snow day, RPS will be closed Monday for Presidents’ Day.

Henrico County Public Schools

Henrico County Public Schools students will be getting a snow day on Friday. Virtual and in-person classes will be cancelled for the day. No Henrico schools employees will be asked to report in-person or virtually.

Chesterfield County Public Schools

Chesterfield County Public Schools has canceled in-person and virtual classes. CCPS is also closed on Monday, Feb. 15 for Presidents’ Day.

Colonial Heights Public Schools

Colonial Heights Public Schools will be closed on Friday due to forecasted snow and ice. They have decided to cancel all classes and will not be holding a virtual learning day..

Meal pickup for virtual students will be begin again on Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Colonial Heights Middle School. There will be additional meals available at this event due to Friday’s cancellation.

Hanover County Public Schools

Hanover County Public Schools will be closed Friday for winter weather. All students and staff will be able to spend the day at home as snow and sleet fall in the county.

The school district says they are cancelling school due to concerns that buses and parents will not be able to safely drive on the roads.

Amelia County Public Schools

Amelia County Public Schools will be closed Friday as winter weather moves through the area.

The buildings will be closed to students and staff. Employees working 10, 11 and 12 month schedules are all asked to stay home.

Dinwiddie County Public Schools

Dinwiddie County Public Schools will be closed for a snow day on Friday.

The school district will be closed to all students and staff. 

Charles City County Public Schools

Charles City County Public Schools are closed on Friday for winter weather. Students and staff are asked to remain home.

Hopewell City Public Schools

Friday will be a snow for students, staff and faculty in Hopewell City Public Schools.

Goochland County Public Schools

Students and staff in Goochland County will have a snow day on Friday and will return to school on Monday for a make-up day. Monday was originally scheduled as a day off for Presidents’ Day.

During the snow day on Friday all schools and offices will be closed. Employees are scheduled to work remotely.

Students will not be asked to do any work or remote learning.

Spotsylvania County Public Schools

Spotsylvania County Public Schools buildings will be closed on Friday as winter weather impacts Virginia. Students will continue learning asynchronously.

Essential employees will be expected to work in-person if they are able to get to the buildings.

Year-long employees will work remotely.

John Tyler Community College

John Tyler announced its campus will be closed Feb. 13 and 14. They said students should check their email and/or Canvas for class updates.
