RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Recent University of Richmond grad and Spider Football alumnus Reggie Diggs returned to the practice field for the Washington redskins Tuesday. Diggs began the preseason on the Physically Unable to Perform list because of a lower leg injury. Tuesday, though, Diggs donned a set of shoulder pads and the jersey number 17 and joined his teammates as a full practice participant for the first time in training camp. Diggs even made a sweet one-handed catch during drill time with his position group.
On the other side of the ball, another Redskin with local college ties continued to impress. Greg Toler attended the now-closed St, Paul’s College in Lawrenceville. He was drafted in 2009 and has played for the Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts. He signed with Washington in the offseason, and Head Coach Jay Gruden has been singing his praises during training camp.
