Grieving son desperate for answers after mother found murdered in Richmond home

News

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The son of a mother found dead in her Richmond home is searching for answers into her untimely death.

Scott Fairman wants to know who killed his mother, Suzanne “Suzie” Fairman. Richmond Police found her face down in a bathtub in a bathroom Thursday night.

“This process hasn’t been easy, it’s been the most difficult time of my life,” Fairman said.

Fairman lives in North Carolina but received the news while working in Idaho, just days before Mother’s Day. His grandmother was expecting Suzanne to visit her in Florida for Mother’s Day. When Suzanne didn’t arrive the family contacted one of Scott’s cousins who attends VCU.

Scott said he is shocked something like this happened to his mother in the neighboorhood she lived in.

“For me, personally, it’s just horrible to have to go through,” he said.

Fairman told 8News he hopes the community comes forward with information as he seeks some peace of mind. Richmond Police said they have increased patrols in the area.

“Every little bit of information helps..no matter how insignificant you think it is,” Fairman said. “Because every little piece adds to a bigger picture.”
