HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) —  If your life has ever been affected by Alzheimer’s disease, Virginia wants to hear from you.

A listening session is being held in Henrico on Tuesday as part of a commission’s efforts to update the Virginia state dementia plan.

The Virginia Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Commission is inviting everyone from doctors to people living with dementia and caregivers to come and voice their opinion.

“In a lot of cases people with dementia have had issues either with the state system, the government system, or perhaps maybe finding care and those are the kinds of stories we’d like to hear so we can find these problems and help fix them through policy change,” said Carter Harrison, State Public Policy Director for the Alzheimer’s Association.

The listening session will be held Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Richmond Chapter located at 4600 Cox Road in Glen Allen.Click here to learn more from the Virginia Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Commission.
