Henrico County man gets 25 years for mom’s brutal murder

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Henrico County man convicted of beating his mother to death last October has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Sean Hill, 30, was convicted in June of second-degree murder by a jury.

According to an affidavit obtained by 8News, Hill called 911 on the morning of October 14, 2017 and told dispatchers he found his mother, 61-year-old Barbara Gray, on the floor and unresponsive.

Police initially ruled Hill a person of interest and charged him with breaking into his mother’s home, but was formally charged with second-degree murder a few days later.

A toilet bowl plunger was found by Gray’s side. Officers also observed what “appeared to be blood” in the hallway.
