HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Henrico County Police arrested two juveniles after an high-speed chase.
Officials say two juveniles driving a stolen SUV led police on a high-speed chase, Saturday and crashed into several parked cars near Dakar Drive and East Nine Mile Road.
“It was a horrible noise. It was a horrible scene,” victim Doris Heath said. “We could have been killed.”
Heath said she was sleeping in her bedroom when the suspects lost control, drove onto her front lawn, hitting her husband’s truck and her home.
“His truck is usually parked right here, it saved our lives,” Heath said. “It’s pushing up the bedroom wall where my bedroom is. It’s actually made a dent the whole back of the truck is squished in. All the wires are hanging off. It’s totaled.”
Heath said three of her neighbor’s cars were also hit, but luckily no one was hurt.
Police said the two teens were arrested and one charged with grand larceny, conspiracy to commit a felony, felony elude and traffic offenses, while the other was charged with grand larceny, conspiracy to commit a felony and possession of marijuana.
Sixty-three-year-old Phillip Tuck, whose truck was hit in the collision as well, said him and his neighbors are looking at thousands of dollars in damages.
“My poor neighbor next door I feel so sorry for them and this neighbor too, both of them really,” Tuck said. “That’s all they got, just like this is all I got and it’s just horrible what happened.”
Heath and Tuck said all they can do now is wait for an adjuster to assess the damage and let them know where they can go from here.
“They have affected so many lives,” Heath said. “Innocent people as well as their own lives.”Click here to check on crime in your area.Find 8News on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram; send your news tips to iReport8@wric.com.
