8News is proud to once again partner with the James Center and light up downtown for Richmond’s 34th annual Grand Illumination.
This year’s celebration will take place Friday, November 30 at the James Center, located at 1051 East Cary Street.

You can also help make the holidays a little easier for local children that are victims of abuse. Bring an unwrapped toy to the event for SCAN to distribute as gifts for these children who are desperate to experience the joy of the holidays.

Wait, there’s an after party!?
That’s right — for the first time, The EnRichmond Foundation is partnering to host the Grand Illumination After Party.
The party will be held after the tree lighting beginning at 7 p.m. at Kanawha Plaza.
Organizers say the change in venue will give people a chance to explore new territory.
“We’re trying to get the community to come out to our local green spaces and enjoy the resources we have, so we’re really excited to utilize that space for this event.”
There will be plenty of music, food, and entertainment.
