Kickers’ new head coach fitting right in

News

After 19 years, longtime Kickers head coach Leigh Cowlishaw stepped down this week to take more involved role as the director of soccer. Enter new head coach David Bulow, a man familiar with the club and its history.

Bulow spent seven seasons as a player for the Kickers and four years as an assistant coach before lending his coaching to the under 15, 17 and 19 Richmond United teams. He is fourth all-time on the Kickers’ goal-scoring list with 45 for his career in Richmond.

It hasn’t taken much time for the former Kickers star to gel with his new staff and players, considering a number of them either played with or under him at some point during their own careers.

Bulow will make his home debut as the seventh head coach in Richmond Kickers franchise history this Saturday, June 30th at City Stadium against North Carolina FC, first touch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
