AMELIA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Page Burwell Harrison, the 38-year-old son of Amelia County Commonwealth’s Attorney Lee Harrison, has been arrested on charges of having sex with a child in 2019.

The three felony charges of “carnal knowledge of a child age 13 or 14 without force” allege three years ago, Page, of Jetersville, had sex with a child of 13 or 14 years of age — in January of 2019, according to court documents. The official offense date is listed in court records as Jan. 1, 2019.

Each charge is a class four felony in Virginia, which carry penalties of two to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000 for each count.

Virginia State Police (VSP) said the organization began investigating Page in November 2022 for the January 2019 incident. VSP then arrested him on Jan. 6, 2023.

Page was hired by Amelia County Public Schools in March of 2022 as a mechanics helper, according to Superintendent Lori Harper. Harper said he is not currently reporting to work, and said the incident was not related to Amelia County Public Schools.

“Amelia County Commonwealth’s Attorney Lee Harrison sought a special prosecutor when he learned that the Virginia State Police were investigating incidents within the county involving his son,” said Powhatan Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney, Timothy Dustan, in a statement.

While Page’s charges originated in Amelia Circuit Court, court documents show the case was transferred to Powhatan Circuit Court.

“Powhatan County Commonwealth’s Attorney Robert Cerullo was appointed to assist and to advise the Virginia State Police investigator, and to prosecute any charges which arose as a result of that investigation,” Dustan told 8News.

Court documents show Page did post bail.
