HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Charges are pending against a student in Henrico County who allegedly brought a 'taser-like' weapon to Brookland Middle School on Wednesday, according to police.
In a statement, school officials said no one was injured and the weapon was never used in a threatening manner:
"We know the item was never used in a threatening manner, nor were any students and staff in harm’s way. We are thankful to the student who brought this to our attention so we could respond appropriately and confiscate the device. We have taken additional steps, as appropriate, according to our Code of Student Conduct." -- HCPS
