Charlottesville hosts Final Four watch parties for UVa fans

Local News

The University of Virginia fans are thrilled about Saturday’s Final Four matchup against Auburn.

They’ve taken over several spots in the city of Charlottesville.

The historic Paramount Theatre is holding a free showing of the game for fans who weren’t able to make it to Minneapolis.

Fans are calling this game a historic one for the university.

The men’s basketball team made a Final Four appearance back in 1984.

Joanna Clark, a lifelong Cavaliers fan, said she knows the team will win, but it won’t come easy.

“They’ll scare us a little bit in the first half because that’s what they do,” Clark said.

Other fans, like AJ Young, are confident the Cavaliers will pull through.

“We got this! We’re going to the championship, you heard it right here first!” Young said.

Game tip-off is at 6:09 p.m.
