Chesterfield County home destroyed in fire

Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WRIC) — Firefighters responded to a house fire in Chesterfield County Friday, according to a spokesperson for the Chesterfield Fire Department, that severely damaged the home’s roof.

Lt. Jason Elmore with Chesterfield Fire and EMS tweeted that there is a working incident in the 1300 block of Singer Road.

“Heavy fire through the roof,” Elmore told 8News. “No one was at home at the time.”

The 8News crew at the scene learned that the couple who owns the home have dogs, but none of them were inside at the time. 8News also learned the fire was through the roof when firefighters arrived and that they used ladders in order to put out the fire because there was so much damage in the stairwell.

No injuries were reported.
