CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Authorities in Chesterfield County are holding a medication take-back on March 5.
Community members can safely get rid of expired and unneeded medications at the Chesterfield County Police Community Services Building, located at 2730 Hicks Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Chesterfield Police, Chesterfield Sheriff’s Office and volunteers will be on hand to collect the unused or expired prescriptions, over-the-counter and veterinary medications.
Medications should be left in their original containers, police said, and needles, syringes and other “sharps” will not be accepted.
Police say that turning in expired and unused medications helps prevent medication abuse and protects the environment.
