Chesterfield home ‘likely a total loss’ after Friday night fire

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Firefighters who battled a Chesterfield house fire on Friday told 8News at the scene the home is “likely a total loss.”

According to Chesterfield Fire, the house was well involved with flames once crews arrived. Photos taken by 8News shows firefighters working on a badly damaged home.  

8News at the scene learned Chesterfield Fire received the call at 6:51 p.m.

Chesterfield Fire’s Lt. Jason Elmore tweeted about the fire, located in the 10300 block of Redbridge Road, a little after 7 p.m. Elmore writes there is heavy fire involvement but the occupants have been evacuated and no injuries were reported in the fire.

One of the two occupants of the home is being treated for minor injuries they suffered while evacuating. 

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
