CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — No one was injured after an SUV rear-ended a school bus in Chesterfield County Tuesday morning.

8News spoke with the driver of the SUV who said she was traveling along Chester Road when she came over a hill and noticed the bus slowing down. She said she was unable to stop because of icy conditions on the roadway.

A VDOT crew could be seen putting salt and sand on the road.

There was an unknown number of children on the bus at the time of the crash; none of them were injured. Another county bus was called to pick the children up and transport them to school.

It is unclear whether or not charges will be filed. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
