CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Charges are pending for one person after a multi-vehicle crash that involved a Chesterfield County school bus Tuesday afternoon sent one person to the hospital.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Hull Street Road and Brad McNeer Parkway.
A Ford Escape, weaving through traffic at a high rate of speed, was going west on Hull Street Road when it struck a Sedan, causing the Sedan to flip and strike a school bus, according to an email from Chesterfield Police.
Authorities tell 8News that only the driver and their child were on the school bus at the time of the crash and that neither of them was injured.
The driver of the Escape, who was not identified by police, attempted to flee after the crash but was quickly detained.
A woman in the Sedan suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, according to Chesterfield Police.
Charges are pending for the driver of the Escape.
