CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A United States Postal Service employee died after suffering a medical emergency and crashing their mail truck in Chesterfield County.
The crash occurred at around 5:40 p.m. last Friday, November 23, in the area of Olde Stonegate and Salisbury roads.
According to police, 54-year-old Beverly Sublett, of Poachers Run, was operating a 1994 USPS mail truck when it rolled backwards off the shoulder of the road and struck a mailbox before coming to rest in a landscape bed.
Sublett was transported to an area hospital and died on Sunday, police say.
At this point, the investigation indicates that Sublett was experiencing a medical emergency at the time of the crash.
