NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A local organization is working to make prom even more exciting for the teens who decide to attend.

The Helpers Organization was at the Military Circle Mall on Saturday, where teens were able to get prom dresses with a $10 donation.

The money donated goes straight to the organization’s homeless program and rent assistance program.

10 On Your Side spoke with Tie Coleman-hall about what the girls are able to experience. Hall says, “They will have a personal shopper who will help them pick out dresses and help them to try on shoes and accessories for free. And then we have vendors who will be here to help with additional jewelry.”

If you weren’t able to make it out to event on Saturday, they will be at the mall again on Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.
