A Farmville man is in custody after police found an improvised explosive device at his home.
The Piedmont Regional Drug and Gang Task Force were carrying out a warrant as part of an ongoing investigation on Monday night.
When officers went to the home on South Virginia Street, they found the IED along with assault-style weapons, body armor, ballistic helmets and communications equipment.
A bomb technician was sent into the home to make the explosive device safe.
Robert Baldwin was arrested and charged with two counts of grand larceny, one count of possession of an explosive device and one count of possession of marijuana. He’s currently being held at Piedmont Regional Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
