HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Hanover County on Friday afternoon. According to Virginia State Police, “At the time of the crash, there was heavy rainfall. It is being considered a factor into the cause of the crash.”
Authorities responded to the 38 mile marker of Interstate-295 North at 12:33 p.m. for a report of a single-vehicle crash. An investigation from police revealed that a female driver, who was not wearing her seat belt at the time, lost control of her car and ran off the road, overturning in the median.
The woman, who was not identified, was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. An investigation is underway.
