CHARLES CITY, Va. (WRIC) — Hazmat crews responded late Friday afternoon to a crash involving a tractor-trailer in Charles City.
Troopers say the tractor and trailer were traveling on Rt. 5 prior to veering off the road.
The vehicle is upright but sustained damage that resulted in about 75-100 gallons of diesel fuel to spill, according to police.
Motorist should expect delays and seek alternate routes.
The male driver was not injured. Police charged the driver with failure to maintain lane, however.
The crash remains under investigation.
