HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — An overturned tractor-trailer shut down Interstate 295 south in Henrico early Friday morning.

The crash happened just after midnight at mile marker 20, which is near the Varina exit.

State police say the driver, 30-year-old Lainier Zahada, of Florida, swerved to avoid hitting a deer and ran off the road. This caused the tractor-trailer — which was hauling 45,000 pounds of Kraft food products — to overturn.

No injuries were reported in the crash.

Zahada was charged with reckless driving-failure to maintain control and driving with an invalid commercial drivers license.

The center lane, right lane and right shoulder were closed for nearly eight hours as the cleanup process was underway.
