Many homes in a Henrico County neighborhood were evacuated overnight due to a gas leak.
The call for the leak came in around 11:30 p.m. Thursday on Skipwith Road.
Around 40 people in nearly 12 houses between Skipwith and Roswell were asked to leave once news of the situation broke. With others evacuating voluntarily.
Henrico Police said that around 3 a.m., the leak was marked under control and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
About 60 homes had gas temporarily turned off as issues were resolved.
When 8News crews arrived on the scene, they reported smelling the gas immediately.
Skipwith Road between Westfield Road and Frazee Road is expected to remain closed for most of the day as crews continue to make repairs.
8News has been told that the gas should be back on as the leak has been fixed.
