Henrico students win Congressional Art Competition

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Henrico County Public Schools had four winners in the annual 2019 Congressional Art competition.

The Congression Art Competition is open to high school students in Virginia’s 7th Congressional District.

Deep Run H.S. had three winners, including first-place winner ‘Reality Check’ by Jordan Miller. Joann Kim’s ‘Jaded’ won third place and Lily Burnam’s piece ‘Beverly Nemesis’ won Honorable Mention.

Jasmine Mason of Henrico H.S. won the Staff Choice Award for her work titled, ‘Trapped Behind a Scene.’

The winners traveled to Washington D.C. for the exhibition and had a meeting with Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger.

Miller’s artwork will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for the next year.
