HENRICO, Va. (WRIC) — An administrator at Varina High School in Henrico was injured while trying to break up a fight between students during the school’s lunch hour Wednesday.
Police say School Resource Officers responded to the scene of the fight, and police and EMS were called to assist. The administrator suffered a minor injury, and was transported to the hospital.
Taylor Nicholas Goodman, 18, of Henrico has been charged with malicious wounding. Goodman is a student.
School officials also said that “appropriate disciplinary actions” were being taken.
The school was placed on “lock and teach” as a precaution, and instruction continued through the afternoon.
