HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A threat prompted the lockdown of three Henrico County schools on Friday.
Henrico Schools said in a tweet that police responded to Rolfe Middle School to investigate a “serious threat,” but have not discovered any credibility to that threat.
Police later said the threat appeared to have been a prank call.
The nature of the threat was not immediately clear.
Both Baker Elementary and Varina High School were also placed on lockdown as a precaution.
All lockdowns have since been lifted.
“situations like this are always taken very seriously, and Henrico Police are actively investigating to determine the person or people who may responsible,” Henrico County Schools spokesperson Andy Jenks said in a statement.
