HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A section of road in Henrico County was closed Monday morning as police investigated a pedestrian being hit in the early morning hours.

Police said the pedestrian, a man, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in the 4000 block of Williamsburg Road just before 4 a.m.

A section of Williamsburg Road was closed from Klockner Drive to Lewis Road until around 7:20 a.m. as police investigated the incident.

Police said the driver of the car remained at the scene and is working with police during their investigation.
