Hundreds march for change after deadly I-95 officer-involved shooting

Hundreds marched to the Richmond Police headquarters demanding change after a deadly officer-involved shooting that happened last month on Interstate 95.

Marcus-David Peters was naked and unarmed when he was shot by a Richmond officer.

Family members are calling on the department to release its "crisis intervention training," to the public so it could be reviewed. The family wants mental health professionals to respond to incidents where people are in crisis.

Princess Blanding, Marcus-David Peters' sister says citizens” can’t walk around constantly with fear.”

“If we’re in need of help and you're having a moment in your life, you know, that you're going through a crisis situation that it's going to result in death," Blanding said.

A spokesperson for the department says they are working with the family and community, adding that law enforcement is listening to their concerns.
