It’s National Prescription Drug Take Back day

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — It’s National Drug Take Back day and law enforcement agencies in Central Virginia are participating.

The day was created in 2017 bu the DEA to help prevent drug abuse and addiction.

Drop off locations can be found in Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, Colonial Heights and Prince George.

The locations will be collecting prescription drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Chesterfield County Police Department

Location: Eanes-Pittman Public Saftey Training Center 6610 Public Saftey Way

Richmond City Sheriff’s Office

Location: Richmond Veteran Affairs Medical Center – 1201 Broad Rock Boulevard Richmond

Hanover County Sheriff’s Office

Location: Mechanicsville Convenience Center – 7427 Verdi Lane

Colonial Heights Police Department

Location: Colonial Orthopedics Parking Lot – 325 Charles H. Dimmock Parkway

Prince George County Police Department

Location: Prince George County Police Department Side Parking Lot – 6600 Courthouse Road
