Man arrested after missing Virginia woman's body found in woods

APPOMATTOX COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) - Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a missing Virginia woman whose body was found over the weekend near Lynchburg.

Lisa Henderson, of Appomattox County, was believed to be in 'extreme danger' after authorities located her vehicle over the weekend in the City of Lynchburg

Two days later, authorities located her body in a wooded area off Plumb Branch Road in the Concord area of Campbell County.

Investigators immediately suspected foul play due to the findings discovered at the scene.

Later in the afternoon, 21-year-old Felix Jefferson III was arrested in connection with Henderson's disappearance and death. He's charged with accessory after the fact of a homicide and accessory after the fact of a felony.

Investigators said Jefferson was denied bond and is being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Campbell County.

Henderson's body has been sent to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
