Man killed, wife seriously injured in motorcycle crash

CHARLES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Authorities say one of the people injured in Sunday afternoon’s motorcycle crash has died.

Virginia State Police responded to the single-vehicle crash on John Tyler Memorial Highway at 3:07 p.m. 

John C. Ennis, 68, of Richmond, died at VCU Medical Center and his wife, 65-year-old Barbara A. Ennis, of Richmond, was flown to the hospital with serious injuries. 

Investigators say the couple wrecked while going through a curve on John Tyler Memorial Highway.

Their bike veered to the right and flipped over several times.

According to a family member, Barbara Ennis fractured several bones in her back. She suffered other injuries too.

Both were wearing helmets, according to investigators.
