Man recovering after shooting in city’s Gilpin Court

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A man is suffering non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting in the city’s Gilpin Court neighborhood. 

Police say they received a call from a citizen in the area of Baker St. around 4:45 p.m. Thursday. That person told police someone was possibly shot and may have been heading to the hospital.

Police added that they intercepted a male shooting victim, 27, at the hospital. 

Further investigation revealed the shooting occurred at the intersection of Baker and St. John streets, in the area of a convenience store. 

RPD is still working to get a suspect description. No further information is available at this time.
