RICHMOND, Va., (WRIC) — More than 1,000 volunteers spent the final Saturday in April volunteering in neighborhorhoods throughout RIchmond as part of National Rebuilding Day.
The month long call to service offers major and minor repairs to homes.
In Richmond, volunteers spent the day repairing homes in the Brookland Park and East Highland Park neighborhoods.
“For these communities to stay together,” said Alain Monyette with Richmond Window Corporation. “Allows for people in these communities who’ve been here helped build here helped create what Richmond is now. To still stay in their house but be in a place safe. Be in a place that’s warm. Be in a place that’s healthy.”
Richmond Window Corporation along with Renewal by Andersen partnered with Rebuilding Together to replace windows in several homes throughout Richmond.
