LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A motorcyclist who was seriously hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Louisa County was flown to the hospital for treatment on Friday.

Virginia State Police said troopers responded to the 18000 block of Jefferson Highway at 4:26 p.m. for reports of a two-vehicle crash involving a van and a motorcycle.

An initial investigation revealed that a woman on a motorcycle was passing vehicles as she moved west on Jefferson Highway. Police said a van was making a left turn and struck the motorcycle when it was trying to pass in the left lane.

The motorcyclist, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital in a helicopter with serious injuries, police said. Charges are pending as an investigation continues.
