Police find 2 men dead in car after shooting in Hillside Court

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Two people were killed and a third was injured following a Monday afternoon shooting in Hillside Court.

Police told 8News they were called to the 1800 block of Southlawn Avenue for reports of random gunfire at around 12:50 p.m. When officers arrived, they found three males who had been shot. 

Two of the victims, identified as 20-year-old Tijuan D. Davis and 21-year-old Eric D. Wheless, were pronounced dead at the scene. A third was rushed to VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, according to police. 

Neighbors tell 8News they're on edge after an uptick in violence over the past few months. 

Jasmine Mann told 8News she heard several gunshots before noticing two men dead inside a nearby vehicle. 

"Scared as hell," she recalled. "You got to watch your back. You don't know who's out here, whether it's random fire or a ricochet. 

"You just start to think people be shooting at the air on a daily basis."

"Scared..as hell. Because how you got to watch your back. You don't know who out here doing random fire or Richoet.

"You just think on a daily basis people be shooting at the air."

Police have not said whether or not they are looking for a suspect or if they believe any of these men shot each other. Anyone with Information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
