POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Powhatan County Sheriff’s Office K-9 who helped find two missing children back in March has been promoted.

Bane was promoted to sergeant and received his brand new badge this week.

“Bane would also like to thank retired magistrate Jacky Whigham for sponsoring the purchase of his new badge!” the sheriff’s office said on Facebook.

On March 23, Bane was called in to help find two 8-year-old kids who became lost in the woods before dusk. After less than 15 minutes in the woods, Bane was able to sniff out the children’s path and find them.
