RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Severe weather throughout Central Virginia is keeping some flights in and out of Richmond airport grounded.

That’s according to Troy Bell, a spokesperson for Richmond airport.

As of 4 p.m., 19 flights have been canceled. Another nine flights have been delayed more than 60 minutes.

“Most disrupted flight – severely delayed or canceled – would somehow be weather-related,” Bell said in an emailed statement.

“The cancellations run up and down the East Coast, from Atlanta to Boston,” Bell added. “This is not what you would typically expect in mid-April.”
