RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Four people were injured after an ambulance was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on West Broad St. Wednesday evening.
According to police, the ambulance was traveling eastbound on Broad Street responding to an emergency call. The ambulance was operating with its emergency lights and siren activated.
After entering the intersection, the ambulance was struck by the pickup truck traveling northbound on the Boulevard.
The two occupants of the pick-up and the two RAA employees were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
“The crash is still under investigation and we are fully cooperating with Richmond Police as they work to determine what happened,” said Mark Tenia, a spokesperson with Richmond Ambulance Authority. “We’re thankful there were no serious injuries.”
