Bike Walk RVA to receive History Maker award

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — This year, The Valentine will be recognizing individuals and organizations as History Makers in the Richmond area.

Bike Walk RVA will be among the group receiving the History Maker award.

The main goal of the Bike Walk RVA program is to make walking and biking safe and convenient for Virginians in the City of Richmond, Chesterfield, Hanover, and Henrico counties.

This year, The Valentine will be recognizing individuals and organizations as History Makers in the Richmond area.

The organization also promotes the construction of trails, bike lanes, sidewalk and safe neighborhood streets so that walking and biking are part of daily transportation in the Richmond area.Brantley Tyndall and Louise Lockett Gordon will be representing the organization.

“The whole point is that we are increasing the quality of life, seeing healthy activity levels and there is something in it for everybody,” said Tyndall. 

Tyndall and Gordon will be joining several other winners at the ‘History Makers’ celebration at Virginia Union University on March 12.
