Lucille Brown Middle School evacuated due to ‘gas odor’

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Lucille M. Brown Middle School on Jahnke Road was evacuated Friday morning. 

Richmond Public Schools spokesperson Kenita Bowers told 8News that students were evacuated as a safety precaution due to a “gas odor.”

Students were let back in the school around 9:30 a.m. It’s unclear what caused the odor.
