Multi-vehicle crash on I-95 causes closures, 5.5-mile backup in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 caused delays for drivers in Richmond Tuesday morning.

The crash was first reported shortly before 7 a.m. and was located on I-95 North near the Commerce Road exit.

All northbound lanes are closed for a time. Shortly before 7:45 a.m., VDOT reported that there was a 5.5-mile backup.

Shortly before 9 a.m., VDOT reported that all lanes had been reopened and the scene was clear.
