One man dead in Richmond after shooting on Afton Avenue

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — One man is dead after a Thursday afternoon shooting on Afton Avenue, according to the Richmond Police Department.

Police said they were called to the 2200 block of Afton Avenue at 4:10 p.m. on Dec. 16.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released the identity of the victim

RPD said the Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
