RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Ashes, singed skeletons of structure and smoldering debris of William Fox Elementary School could be seen after a disastrous fire ravaged the building over the weekend.

Firefighters worked in a defensive manner from the outside to stop the fire from spreading

The Richmond Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 2300 Hanover Avenue around 10:35 p.m. Friday, where they encountered the school engulfed in heavy smoke, and flames coming from the top floor above the main entrance.
